American Rescue Dog
Update:George is being transfered to Dogs Deserve Better in the hopes that VA will be a more suitable place for him to find his forever home! We are now accepting donations to cover his vet bills, transport, food, medications and a donation to DDB. Please consider helping George!
This is our boy George, he is 80lbs and strong and sweet. Before our rescue partners in South Carolina rescued him he was living in a world of sh*t, literally. He was confined to a small outdoor kennel, never cleaned up after and was only taken out to hunt.
Since then he has been taken to the vet, altered and given all of the necessary vaccinations. He has been learning to live in a house, has been socialized with many people and is progressing every day.
Georges a hound, was used as a hunting dog and likes using his nose to sniff things out. He has come a long way to becoming a dog again, he was living in a kennel filled with 6 inches of his own feces and neglected his entire life. We can't expect him to settle in immediately, it will take some time and patience.
Due to his hunting background he does Not Get along with small fuzzy things like cats or small dogs. He absolutely LOVES Beagles, he hunted with 8 of them!
He loves larger dogs. See video below!
George needs someone that will commit to him 100% and give him the love and attention he needs. He is a no fee adoption!
